We can all thank Vogue for making the September issue of any lifestyle magazine synonymous with fashion. And while I may not be Anna Wintour, I’m not immune to the pull of the changing seasons of both fashion and nature. So I hope that you enjoy our annual Style issue!
We are thrilled to see the debut of States, a soccer lifestyle brand sure to make waves. Whether on or off-pitch, these elegant looks intertwine functionality and a laid-back casual vibe perfect for active weekends.
You can also check out how to style a plate with our interview with the chef/owner of Mesob, Chervan Desaugauste. This Northlander has combined the cuisines of Africa and the Caribbean into a beautiful fusion and is sharing his wisdom with us.
I also have to take a moment to share another favorite in September–my daughter, Iris. She will be two years old on September 24 the and is about to welcome a baby sister in November, whether she likes it or not! I’m savoring the last few months of just the three of us–singing Moana, having tickle fights, and watching her learn another 15 words a day, it seems. She’s such a sweet soul, albeit one with a mischievous streak, and I can’t imagine life without her. Happy birthday, Iris! You are so deeply loved.
Enjoy this issue and savor the last moments before the holiday juggernaut descends upon us!
Correction: In the August issue, the back page included an error. Shannon Gifford’s son Aidan’s name was misspelled. We deeply regret the error.
On the Cover: States is a new clothing line that works just as hard off the pitch as it does on the pitch. Founders Seth Sinovic, Ryan Van Goethen, Matt Besler and Daniel Kerley are excited about the launch of the line. Story on page >>>> Photography by Stephen Shireman.
