Memories. That’s what Trago, the new tapas restaurant in Kansas City near Liberty, is based on. Kandi Kerns, the chef/owner is capturing the feeling and essence of dining experiences long past and making them available for the hungry diner today.
A civilized society must rise up and say “not in our city, not in our nation, not in our world!”
These are the words of Phillip O’Reilly: husband, father, grandfather, and pastor of Rock of KC, a nondenominational church in the Northland. When O’Reilly learned that there is worldwide demand for children who are trafficked for sex with adults, he knew he had to do something.
In response to growing demand for private banking and wealth management services in the Northland, The Commerce Trust Company recently added a dedicated representative in its Parkville branch location.
“We are opening an office in Parkville because we want to be more accessible to our growing client base in Platte County to help service them where they live,” said Andrew Kaplan, director of private banking for The Commerce Trust Company. “This expansion allows us to be more engrained in the community, which is important to us.”

I have to admit–I’ve never been a big Valentine’s Day person. Sure, I love romance but I also don’t want my husband to spend 500% more on flowers than he would in January or March, just because Cupid said he should. I’m more of low-key. If we go out, it will probably be to the White Horse Pub where we can make googly eyes at each other over our daughter in her car seat and fish and chips.
Dave and Valerie Phillips sometimes see the world through rose-colored glass, sometimes through blue, and other times simply a clear textured pane.
As stained glass artists and owners of Stained Glass Creations, LLC, the Phillips are in the business of creating artwork that others envision, turning dreams into reality, and personal memorabilia into displayable conversation pieces.

In the modest front office of Hugo Tea Company, owner and founder Tyler Beckett adds heated water from a kettle into a clay teapot small enough to easily cup it in two hands. The teapot, etched on the side with Chinese characters, contains loose leaves of Da Ye Xi. The Chinese green tea has a smooth character and savory-sweet flavor.
