What better month to feature the Home? November marks the beginning of the most festive time of year–full of family gatherings, holidays and lots of excuses to spruce up the old homestead.

In this issue, you’ll get to peek inside Urban North, the Northland’s only subdivision with modern design at its heart. Luke Owen of Owen Homes sees a vision for a neighborhood where the lines are sleek and the energy efficient and he’s not the only one. Amber and Toby Jennings have already moved in and love the sleek yet cozy feeling of their new custom home.

For folks that prefer something with a little more history, check out our story about Main Street Goods and Goodies. The shop is part antiques, part original art and part throw-back treats like you or your mom might have enjoyed. There’s something for everyone and its proprietor, Gail Dugdale, is happy to help blend styles to create a unique look for your home.

If getting out of the house is more your style, Pete Dulin is taking us on a trip across the state. St. Louis is more than just Italian food and the Redbirds. He clues us in on the hip eateries, breweries and coffee shops that you won’t want to miss.

I mentioned the Lifestyle Readers’ Choice Awards last month and now the voting site is up and running. Please take a moment to go online and nominate or vote for your favorite local vendors, restaurants and service providers. These neighbors are the reason we exist and we hope you’ll enjoy the opportunity to help us recognize the best of the best.

During this busy month and the months ahead, please try to take a minute and enjoy some peace and quiet. Grab a book and a cup of tea and absorb the atmosphere of your home that you’ve worked so hard to create. You’ve earned it!

Happy Thanksgiving!
