Sunscreen Stroll Debuts in Smithville Lake

The first annual Sunscreen Stroll at Smithville Lake drew an enthusiastic 200 people, including 10 melanoma survivors. The event, the first for the Melanoma Miracles Foundation, raised money for melanoma research. Makenzie Martin, founder of the organization along with her mother and father, Cynthia and Jeff, were excited to see such a great turnout for their first event. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer. Its occurrence is skyrocketing in women under 30, with the effected number soaring from 1980 to present day.
